PHOENIX - A downtown Phoenix motel from the '50s, described as old and run down, is turning into a new technologically advanced destination.

 EV Hotel Group is planning to open one of its first automated, technology-focused hotels in downtown Phoenix. 

 Ken Patel, founder and CEO for Atlanta-based EV Hotels spoke with Phoenix New Times about his concept by phone on December 22, indicating that he expects the project to take 12 to 14 months to complete — at a likely cost of $25 to $27 million.

EV Hotels will deliver a one-of-kind experience for its guest and visitors which include digital assets such as crypto payments, NFT sales, and even a revenue enhancement meeting room component to drive revenues, profits, and to offer a place to stay that is crypto friendly to a substantial growing global community.

 A hospitality company is planning to open its first smart hotel with a focus on technology in downtown Phoenix in a renovated historic motel
